I cannot imagine *not* doing this, maintaining a distro and preserving any sanity in the process. I cannot imagine having all your updates based on a moving target. I cannot imagine why have side-tags, why decouple building from committing, why make mass-rebuilds a big thing instead of a topical branch they are and why make composes a big thing and not just a commit in a repo of 'the state of Fedora'. Composing this email takes about the same time (3m) as cloning [1], the second largest package collection on repology, at full depth. The tip of it, which the users actually need to download when they update, weights <25M. --depth=1 clone takes 10 seconds. [1] time git clone git@xxxxxxxxxx:NixOS/nixpkgs _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
