E.g., I fear that desktop Fedora may end up splittered into a KDE/Plasma module, a GNOME module, an Xfce module, etc. all shipping different versions of some shared (freedesktop.org etc.) libraries, and that all desktop applications would end up depending on one of those modules and no longer being installable for users of any other desktop.
