Even though pyside 1 works with some versions of Python 3 it is quite buggy.
As far as I know the pyside(2) developers considered even beta versions of
pyside2 to be much more stable than pyside1.
Once pyside1 is retired we should also retire shiboken and the other build tools.

I can take a stab at it but if it needs significant porting it may be best to retire it.

On that front, I've got Coin4 packaged; SoQt and SIMVoleon updating a linking properly with Coin4 but I ran into an issue with python-pivy. I already have the latest checkout packaged (same upstream at the others) but running into a swig related error during building.
I'll start another thread seeking some help for it.
Richard: IIRC you also maintain freecad in Fedora, right? In that case I think
you would be the best person to drive the change forward and retire
pyside1/shiboken/apiextractor afterwards.
I figured there would have been more consumers but since the list is pretty short I'll see what I can do. I'm not the main contact for the pyside1 group but I'll try to work with whoever is to work on retirement.
