You get some ubuntu advice that says "rm grubenv grub-editenv grubenv"

You try it. That fails. You intuit the Fedora incantation uses grub2 not grub.

You type it. No error

You ask dnf the kernel. That works! The kernel scriptlet is happy and does not error out anymore

Reboot. BOOM
