Don't assume, measure it yourself ;)
What this means of course is not all 17" screens are created equal, and
sometimes the manufacturer will round to 17" when it's really a bit
smaller.

I have a 17" 322x241 millimeters screen. In 1280*960 thats 101x101 dpi
