It's not "no reason". The reason is to provide a drop-in replacement, which 
necessarily requires using the same binary name. At that point, 
Obsoletes/Provides is just the most effective solution to the file conflict 
that would ensue, also ensuring the upgrade path to the new default for 
users of older Fedora releases.
