No, you didn't start a thread.  You posted a reply to an unrelated
message (the subject of that message was "Re: Fedora 25 Beta 1.1 compose
check report").

When you want to start a new thread, do not reply to an existing thread.
Properly threaded mail clients (and list archives) will show your
message as being a part of that existing thread, just with a different
subject.

For example, see the threaded list archives:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/thread/ZVTPX74T7KJ7KYK47RS3BQZF4W5ESDMJ/

When you scroll down, you'll find your message buried in an unrelated
thread.  That is commonly called "thread hijacking".
