Sorry, nirik points out that I was assuming 'obvious' knowledge here
that I shouldn't have: I meant 'non-blocking' spins. The two blocking
spins - Desktop and KDE - obviously are tested by QA.

Theoretically, therefore - *I STRESS THEORETICALLY!* - there is a case
where changing spins reduces QA's workload, yes: by removing the
obligation to test KDE. I personally like that KDE is a blocking
desktop, but that's a personal opinion.
