But there's an (optional) non-open source part for picture processing and it's unclear if you need it for your special printer type or if it is only to improve performance of the driver to printer communication. Suggestion: Just take and use the rpm of openprinting to have fun :) My Samsung ML-1640 is working well with openprinting.
