I think you are reading too much into a quick poll with a binary result.

Do  not  assume  that adventurous does not necessarily mean death-wish
leaning  towards suicidal. It does not necessarily mean the same thing
for each release (by which I mean 13, 12, or 11).

Similarly,  do  not assume that conservative means Ubuntu's "no change
except for security fixes" policy.

In  reality,  there  is a spectrum of risks. The survey represents two
points  with  no  qualification  (IE  margin  of  error, explanations,
cross-correlation  questions).  It  is  better  than a dart board, and
provides  a  flavour  of  how  that  group  of folks responded to that
question.  Without  depth  it  can't  legitimately  be used to support
anyone's favourite position.  Remember Mark Twain.

We  no  more  want  to  waste  time  with  regressions than we want to
practice free-fall skydiving into swampland without a parachute.

You totally reject *reducing* the number of updates to older supported
releases, but in worst cases those release *are* our parachutes.

The  good news, is this has got a number of us end-users off our comfy
chairs  and involved. We have a stake in the outcome. The bad news, is
we have opinions and even a few skills too.
