Having two mixers on the menu sucks, I agree. We should be able to
access the full ALSA mixer by pressing an 'advanced...' button in the
simplified mixer. Or something more well-hidden, perhaps.

But people were throwing their toys out of the pram and refusing to even
contemplate that kind of thing, so we ended up with the compromise. At
least the functionality is still there, even if it's buried in the
menus.
