FreeOTFE allows you to mount dmcrypt/LUKS volumes under Windows and
access them as though the encrypted volume was just another drive
connected to your PC.

Using FreeOTFE is pretty straightforward - just select "File | Linux |
Mount file..." (or "File | Linux | Mount partition..." as appropriate),
select the encrypted Linux volume to be mounted, and then enter the
right password (and other details, if needed).

A new drive will appear, allowing you to freely read and write to the
encrypted volume.

Further information (abiet a little Linux oriented/technical) can be
found at:

Please note that you'll need to format your encrypted volume using a
filesystem that MS Windows can understand (FAT32, for example)

Between SuSE and Ubuntu, I'd suggest Ubuntu - though that's *purely*
based on the impression I have that it's gained a good reputation as
being a good "first distro" for people to get into Linux.

As for which one would be the best for you out of all distros
available, that's not an easy question to answer - everyone has their
own opinion as to which is the best one!
