I tried 2.6.24-rc4 with your patch, still no good... ~ # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/raid1 ~ # dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/raid1/tempfile 3568802188+0 records in 3568802188+0 records out 1827226720256 bytes (1.8 TB) copied, 29280.8 s, 62.4 MB/s I can do that just fine directly, so I'm relatively sure that all the hardware works correctly and isn't the problem. I also tried disabling write caching, limiting the drives to SATA150, disabling TCQ, settings write-through instead of write-back, no difference.
