SuSE 10.2 and LOADNATIONALKEYB=1

Hi!

My question concerns Linux SuSE 10.2 in its 32 bit version and booting encrypted root from CD as described in 7.6 of the loop-aes readme. Everything works fine until I try to use a passphrase with characters like the euro sign € or some greek mues µ and such. I tried all I could to solve this issue but without success. Below is a look at library dependencies. This linux-gate.so.1 is a file I cannot find. However, loadkeys works with no complaints. Also the boot-CD runs up to the point where the passphrase is asked, then gpg states its failure to decrypt the key. I stored the default.kmap to the iso with both dumpkeys >/iso/default.kmap and from the SuSE keymaps in uncompressed format. No luck so far;-(
Hints & advice is most welcome.

blue:/boot/iso # ldd -v /boot/iso/loadkeys
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb7e8d000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7fd7000)

        Version information:
        /boot/iso/loadkeys:
                libc.so.6 (GLIBC_2.3) => /lib/libc.so.6
                libc.so.6 (GLIBC_2.3.4) => /lib/libc.so.6
                libc.so.6 (GLIBC_2.1) => /lib/libc.so.6
                libc.so.6 (GLIBC_2.0) => /lib/libc.so.6
        /lib/libc.so.6:
                ld-linux.so.2 (GLIBC_PRIVATE) => /lib/ld-linux.so.2
                ld-linux.so.2 (GLIBC_2.3) => /lib/ld-linux.so.2
                ld-linux.so.2 (GLIBC_2.1) => /lib/ld-linux.so.2

Kind regards,
Peter
