There is an hdparm variant for SCSI (SATA) if you search google, hdparm is
for IDE disks primarily.

Hi!
Can someone help me with this?
suse:~ # hdparm -Y /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb:
issuing sleep command
HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(sleep) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Why can´t serial ata drives (wd3200js) be turned off or at least put in
sleep mode with hdparm? Is it a lack of my kernel config or is hdparm the
wrong command?
