I've just performed a clean experiment (replaced IP addresses in ringX_addr by hostnames), here are the results and logs:
So, "ring0_addr: node1" does not work in my case with UDPu, but "ring0_addr: a.b.c.d" does work, and no warnings are in logs regarding ringX_addr.
