/var/log/nvidia-installer.log file?

Can you check your module-init-tools version with a: rpm -q
module-init-tools?
That's where I saw the "Unable to load kernel module 'nvidia.ko'... -1 Invalid module format." last week.

Mine are:
Module-init-tools-3.1-0.pre5.3.2
	Yep. Same here.
