Glad I'm not the only one on this list who refuses to let social "norms" cut off a significant portion of an important sense that most sighted people so under utilize that they might as well be numb. And the thing is, my dad is the only person who has criticized my choice in footwear, so I can only assume most sighted people seldom, if ever, bother to look down. That list of rebuttals had me in giggles. Here's another, though I haven't had a chance to use it where I remembered it: How would you like to walk around wearing a blindfold for no good reason.
