help 4sound card

If sndconfig says your card is not supported, then the required driver is
not present in the kernel. You have to install the driver for your card to
work. Whatever you do with irq is irrelevant if the driver required to make
your card work is not there. To make the card work , you have to either
upgrade to a new kernel which has drivers for your card or go to the card
vendor's site and check whether any driver has been written for linux.
