It appears that the = chip onboard will only take things at 48000, as I proved when I used = mpg123. =20 The major problem is that I cannot use Viavoice. I installed the two = packages and ensured that the ECIINI variable was set correctly. When I = played the sample program, there was no sound, nor did the programs = complain. =20 questions: * Has any one had any experience with this type of sound board and if so = can the above be resolved? Is there a way to get Viavoice to work at a specific sample rate? I would appreciate any assistance with this thanks in advance=20 Mark Muscat ------=_NextPart_000_00DC_01C1AB45.67229FA0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4207.2601" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hello all:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I am not sure if this is off topic, but = I apologise=20 if it is, I have a problem with a system that I am at present setting = up, the=20 specs are as follows:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>* Intel celleron.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>* onboard graphics 8110 Intel chip = set</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>* onboard Intel 82801 = sound.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>* slackware 8.0</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>*kernel version 2.4.5</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>The problem is:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I have compiled the sound module for = the=20 i810_audio.o and I am able to successfully add this to the kernel by = using=20 modprobe. the problem is that whenever I cat an audio file to the=20 /dev/audio device the sound coming out is slightly fast than usual, = later found=20 that when I used play, sox was converting all my files to 48000. = It=20 appears that the chip onboard will only take things at 48000, as I = proved=20 when I used mpg123. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>The major problem is that I cannot use=20 Viavoice.
