Dave, The keystroke for going to top left of the screen usually does not work, but it does sometimes. I wonder if the screen might be split and have two columns. Something certainly seems to be interfering with brltty, or maybe my helper changed some options in the compile. I've checked most of the things you have suggested, but I appreciate anything that may get this going. Thanks.
