Ouch! Most geeks are Boomers or from Generation X, which is explained by
the fact that we were able to enjoy the first affordable computers,
while at the same time birth rates were still high,

people from years with low birth rates are deceiving.

It's like with repositories. Some seem to provide much more software
than others, but actually most provide single software projects split
into many packages.

In a nutshell:

Fewer people, just more selfies.
Not more software, just more packages.
