I'm silently following this discussion from the start and I completely
agree with this POV.

I'm myself a student and I'm sometimes (indirectly) asked to upgrade
some servers, and I would have been completely desperate if I broke
one because I forgot I was updating a piece of software which was
breaking compatibility. This is why, in such case, companies are more
willing to use stable distributions than Arch Linux.

Thus, big +1 for more warnings in the future.
