Star Alliance Gold (was Letter to ACA)

David,
This is my biggest disappointment with UA. The thing is I have a coworker
here who is *A Gold through Air Canada. He gets a lounge access in Canada
and in US for free. But us, the real UA people cannot even get to the lounge
unless we fork out $350/year for it. That is stupid.

Fan of Maple Leaf Lounges in YUL where you have a great view of the field.
(The one for domestic is much better compared to cross border one though)

Well here is something interesting as well...

I am a UA and NZ Gold Star Alliance member. If I travel on UA domestically
within the USA I can use my NZ card to gain access to the Red Carpet lounge.
However if I was to show my UA card instead, they would turn me away as they
do not allow their own Gold Card members access, yet they will allow access
(rightly so) to other star alliance gold members.

Does this make sense to anyone??
