Christopher, List, Thanks for sharing the letter with us. Yes, I can see how you (and I) would see that airport/airline photography is not a prohibited activity by the following wording: "We'd like to clarify that neither the Security Directives (SD) that have been issued over that past few months nor Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 107-airport Security, and Part 108-Airplane Operator Security, contain restrictions or prohibitions on photography. " And yes, I can also see an airport operator claiming local regulations overrides all. It appears, as you've already stated, that common sense and courtesy can go a long way in resolving potential conflicts. Alas, the letter did not specify whether hand inspection of films carried on board was still permitted. Since 9/11 I've been toting my film in a lead bag.
