The kickstart file can be given as an argument to the kernel at boot time. This can be a file on the floppy/cd or a URL. I prefer to put the kickstart on a local webserver and so have "ks=http:/myserver/install.ks" in my grub.conf or equivalent. This works of course whether or not you use DHCP.
