RE: Duplex Setting with Network Driver

Yes, it does seem to work without issues, so I will probably end up using it
on the kickstart disk, and then possibly use the tg3 driver.

Is the driver located on broadcom's site? I can't seem to find the 2.2.27
version you mentioned. That would be very helpful to check out, I wasn't
aware that there was active development on the broadcom one.

Thanks very much for the info, it is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using it, though? Maybe you could twiddle the pcitable file
so that it'll use the bcm5700 driver instead (for the purposes of
kickstarting
the server) and then setup something in your %post section to replace the
"bcm7500" with "tg3" in your modules.conf.

Basically, if it's stable enough for the length of the kickstart, you might
be able to get by. :-)

Are any versions mentioned?

We're currently looking at some gear that's using the NetXtreme, and for
some reason our HW guys seem really insistent that we go with the bcm5700
driver over the tg3. Turns out that there have been a number of updates
to the driver (currently at 2.2.27 as of today), and it looks like
there have been some major changes from the versions that folks like Compaq
and Dell are shipping.

Take care,
