part /boot --fstype ext3 --size 64 --asprimary
part / --fstype ext3 --size 1 --grow --asprimary
part swap --size 512 --asprimary

I have substituted values all the way up to 8192 for the size for the "/"
partition, both with and without the --grow option...

What does the partitioning part of your ks.cfg file look like?
