Yes. This reminds me of when I was doing tech support back when
Win95 was the "latest and greatest." I told a caller to reboot
his computer and his response was, "OK, I just pressed the reset
button." I can only hope that by the time his box came back up
that he understood why that's not a Good Idea. People, Linux
expects you to unmount drives before you remove them for a number
of Very Good Reasons, and if you don't, you can expect trouble.
All I can suggest now is that the OP install testdisk and hope he
can recover the data.
I have but one thing to say to that statement "Amen" .
