I'm working on submitting the Second Life viewer, and I wish to compile for -march=pentium2 on i386 so that MMX can potentially be taken advantage of among other things. Its not critical, but Second Life can't be reasonably expected to run on anything less than that, and in fact the official upstream minimum is an 800mhz Pentium III or Athlon, I'd compile for PIII if not for the Athlon T-bird, which doesn't support SSE. http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php Is this out of line? Buildarch would be i686, of course. There's that pesky cmov problem with the VIA C3, but I'm doubting anyone would want to run the viewer on one of those...
