FWIW, I am now on 384.90-1 from rpmfusion.

It is a personal preference for sure.  I just have never had an issue with rpmfusion
and the akmod process when a new kernel is introduced.  So, frankly, I don't see any
advantage to using a different repo.  Besides, it is just a packaging issue and the
driver is still the same driver from nVidia no matter what repo you pick.  And the
idea of must having the "latest" driver is often bogus anyway.  Unless an update
fixes a problem that you are having it is nothing more than "I got the latest shiny
bits".
