Since F25, my multi-monitor problems have (all but?) vanished. 
In F24, I used to use the 'unify outputs' setting and this 
worked for video, but the audio would eventually vanish.

Now, in F25, I figured out that leaving the primary screen at 
laptop screen mirrors exactly what's on the laptop onto the 
second screen (far less confusing and audio/video just works 
over the hdmi connection).

For my use case, I would call the present stage of development 
nearly ideal.
