Lenovo W530 Internal Microphone

I am using a Lenovo W530 laptop with a Realtek ACL 269 VC/HDA Intel PCH
sound card.

Currently I am using Fedora-20 but previously I used Ubuntu 13.10. On
both systems I have been unable to make the internal microphone work.

I know that there is a problem with the microphone mute button and not
sure if this is the entire problem.

Output sound appears to be just fine.

I have tried changing my settings in AlsaMixer without positive results.

I have made sound tests using Audacity as well as Skype.

It appears that on start-up the system defaults to the "Default" Pulse
Audio.

I have followed several suggestions on various forums without success.

Assistance would be most appreciated.

David
