Before alsamixer 1.0.24, it was.  Since then, the slider position is
proportional with the cubic root of the peak amplitude.

The Aux input cannot be changed.  The Master control actually could go
down to -127 dB; it was restricted to -60 dB because users of the old
alsamixer complained about the slider being unusable.

(To change the range, in sound/pci/oxygen/xonar_cs43xx.c, change the
minimum of cs4362a_db_scale to -12700, and set dac_volume_min to 0.)
