The Master control actually could go down to -127 dB; it was restricted to -60 dB because users of the old alsamixer complained about the slider being unusable. (To change the range, in sound/pci/oxygen/xonar_cs43xx.c, change the minimum of cs4362a_db_scale to -12700, and set dac_volume_min to 0.)
