Re: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio not working with hda-intel

This is another 'my X-Fi Xtreme doesn't work with hda-intel' message.
I haven't much to add. My lspci -vnnn output for the card is:

03:00.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Creative Labs Device [1102:7006] (prog-if
00 [Normal decode])
        Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0
        Bus: primary=03, secondary=04, subordinate=04, sec-latency=68
        Memory behind bridge: c0300000-c03fffff
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel modules: shpchp

04:00.0 Audio device [0403]: Creative Labs [SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio]
CA0110-IBG [1102:0009]
        Subsystem: Creative Labs Device [1102:0018]
        Flags: bus master, fast Back2Back, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 17
        Memory at c0300000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
        Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel

It's the only sound card in my system. I'm running debian 5 with
kernel 2.6.26-2-amd64-smp and using alsa 1.0.21 configured with
--with-isapnp=no --with-cards=hda-intel.  Loading the hda-intel module
I get this in dmesg:

[46151.284517] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:04:00.0[A] -> Link [LNK1] ->
GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
[46151.548740] ALSA hda_intel.c:647: spurious response 0x0:0x0, last
cmd=0x000000
[46152.607732] ALSA hda_intel.c:699: azx_get_response timeout,
switching to polling mode: last cmd=0x107f0d00
[46153.685079] ALSA hda_intel.c:723: hda_intel: azx_get_response
timeout, switching to single_cmd mode: last cmd=0x107f0d00
[46153.689069] __ratelimit: 31 messages suppressed

When trying to play sound through the device (using command-line aplay
utility) I get this in dmesg:

[46253.180041] ALSA hda_codec.c:2683: hda_codec: rates == 0 (nid=0x12,
val=0x0, ovrd=0)

aplay doesn't indicate that anything is wrong, but no audio comes out
of channel 1 output on my card.
