Line-in-Line-out pass-through

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

Up to and including kernel 2.6.29 (which had alsa-1.0.18a) my speakers
connected to the line-out jack could directly play music from an audio
source connected to the line-in jack without any user programs being
involved. Starting with 2.6.30-rc1 this no longer works and I have to use
something like "arecord | aplay" instead (this leads me to believe my
capture sources are set up correctly).

How can I restore the pass-through functionality on more recent kernels?
I am using an Intel ICH9-based board with HD audio and an ALC268 codec.

Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.18a.
hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC268, trying auto-probe from BIOS...
ALSA device list:
  #0: HDA Intel at 0x50520000 irq 22

Please let me know what other information I should provide to help solve
this issue. It looks like some fix made in 2.6.30-rc1 broke the pass-through
functionality.
