Hmm, anyway, you always get snd.ko together with card-specific modules in  /lib/modulesThe problem may arise when by some reason files ain't get copied and don't  rewrite old ones with the same name - or other loosely predictable nasty  things happen, so my advice is to ALWAYS host either package or  source-based version of moduleThat was IMHO since I am not an experienced Linux User as well
