If line in works you could always just use that and add a battery to your
microphone to supply the required power

   Z  resistor =- battery
|| capacitor
O -- microphone cell
---> output to jack.

You can then hook up two of them to get stereo recording.

The only problem is that you need an onboard battery.
Course you could always use the 5V from a USB connector.
