Well, AFAIK Linux distros allow to reconfigure and relaunch ALSA while the
OS is running.

So, I guess, you need to forcefully run similar code (which would reuse
configuration data) upon each reboot.

I do not know the exact names/pieces/details - I do ALSA configuration
through my OS (SUSE-10.3) GUI (yast2).
