Ok, I have updated and running to the snapshot suggested, sound is
right, no more empty 44 Bytes wav files, and all previous strange errors
have been disappeared.

But I still couldn't find a way to capture what I'm hearing from the
soundcard.

Tried

arecord test.wav
arecord -f dat test.wav
arecord -f dat -D hw:0,0 test.wav
arecord -f dat -D plughw:0 test.wav
arecord -f dat -D default test.wav
arecord -f dat -D front test.wav

and several other switches like "-f cd", but what I'm getting right now
are wav files, but no sound in them, I tried boost the volume on some of
these wavs, and them only have a very dim inaudible static, no more no less.

I'm doing something wrong? There is an standard method to capture mixed
output sound?
