Nice page.

Fwiw, you can greatly speed up polyphase resampling using partial
Fourier transforms, to do good quality in real time.  I'm pretty sure
Sox does not do this.  But I vaguely remember there may be a patent
involved if you need it with low delay and low processing cost at the
same time.
