Whether this is possible trivially depends on your soundcard. Some soundcards 
allow to capture everything that is played back. Have a look into the 
recording section of alsamixer [press F4]. If you can enable capturing on a 
channel called "master" or "sum" something else, it might work..

If you don't have such a soundcard you can still try to use some sound daemon 
and route the program's output to a recording program. This depends on the 
specific program you want to record.
