Ok, but the problem is: when i mute the speakers, leave alsamixer, headphones
and pcm become muted too. Then i unmute hphones and pcm, leaving the speaker
muted. That results in having the speaker unmuted too. They are somehow linked
and totally insensitive to whether the jack is plugged in or not.

Did the ubuntu patchset fix this problem for you AND u had alc883 intel hda
soundcard?
