All I can say is good luck and I hope you don't plan to use the S/PDIF 
port anytime soon for 5.1 content. I had the 5.1 and the 7.1 and 
couldn't get either AC3 or DTS to work correctly on my system. I ended 
up buying a Turtle Beach Riviera card for 1/2 the price of the 5.1 and 
1/3 the price of the 7.1 and it "just worked" with ALSA for all outputs.
