Hi!

Just to make sure that I got you right: Basically, what you want to do
is use one sound card for certain media types (let's say video) and
another sound card for another type (maybe music).

If you change that problem a little bit, it is easy to solve. If you
want to use one sound card with one application and another sound card
with another application, you can realize this by configuring the first
application to use plughw:0,0 as a playback device and and the second to
use plughw:1,0. Note that these are only examples. If they don't work,
you may have to use other devices. Maybe this site helps a bit:

http://alsa.opensrc.org/Asoundrc

Now, if you solved the second (modified) problem, the "alsa part" of the
problem is solved. If you are able to solve the first problem depends on
the application you are using. Unfortunately, I don't know MythTV. Maybe
you can configure it in a way that it uses one playback device for music
and another one for TV. I know that with Amarok, you can select
different devices for mono, stereo, 4.0 and 5.1 sound sources.

I hope this helps a bit...
