MythTV/cedega default s/pdif - everything else default analog out stereo

Hi All

I'm currently building a new system for the living room to suit dual
purposes.

Primary - Video/TV PC (5.1) - audio player (stereo)
Secondary - recording room

What I want to do to make this easy is set it up so MythTV defaults to
the S/Pdif only for video on the MB and everything else defaults to
analog out either from the MB but more likely from a second low latency
card for everything else. So my ideal setup is that video and game
(cedega) feeds go to the SPDIF to a 5.1 DTS/AC3 amp and everything else
goes to a stereo amp.

Everything I've read focuses on one or the other. I really need some
advice on setting this up.

I'm happy to sacrifice MythTV for MPD on the audio side if it's not
possible to direct one way for video and another for audio only on
MythTV but would prefer to run all general media through MythTV.

I've been so focussed on my studio setup for the last few years I can't
seem to work out how to do what I want for the setup described above.

Any tips will be highly appreciated.

cheers

Allan
