OK i tried what you suggested but first of all there's no such file in my machine.I also tried to get to it systematically but in /opt there isn't anything inside. Please advise on what to do next.

I'm running redhat 9.0 kernel 2.4.20-6.

I've just tried what you suggested, but unfortunately I still can't see a mouse
cursor. I think there is a bug somewhere.
