   It's not an XFree86 problem.  In my experience on x86, disabling
AGP usually fixes this sort of thing on NVIDIA cards, but since this
is 64 bit AMD, NVIDIA may still be working other issues out.
I notice that you appear to have backing store enabled.  Is there
a reason for that?  Backing store almost always slows things down.
It also frequently results in alot of data being copied back and
forth between the framebuffer and system memory, which could
exacerbate AGP issues.
