Greetings. I have upgraded to XFree86 4.4.0 and I've upgraded my nvidia driver to the latest release, but my X-server still intermittently hangs in what seems to be a busy loop. As it has been pointed out to me that this might be a driver bug, I've sent the following message to linux-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxx Any suggestions would be appreciated. This happens about once a day, and always when I am trying to show somebody how nice things are working :-). -Mike ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 1 Dec 2004 00:12:42 -0500 (EST) From: Michael Albert <albertm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: linux-bugs@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: Xserver/nvidia driver freezes Greetings. Intermittently, my X-server freezes--I find it using 99% of the CPU cycles, and not responding (except that the pointer moves in response to the mouse). I can shell in and use gdb to get a stack-trace of the X server, and I find: #0 0x00000000009e6e0f in ?? () #1 0x0000000000000000 in ?? () <...> #7 0x0000000000d176d0 in ??
