It looks like Rh9 and i got off on the wrong foot. The installation went pretty smooth and i fell in love with the bluecurve interface, the moment i saw it. Unfortunately this love didn't last long enough and it only hit me where it hurts the most !! I was able to dual-boot with WinMe and the grub boot loader did a neat job by allowing me to select the OS. On the first run, it wud ask me to create a new user, which i did. Everything was fine until after a few sessions, while switching from one user to another, the screen blacked out, throwing the following message. " I cannot start X server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not set up correctly. Would you like to view the X server output to diagnose the problem" (Im still not able to figure out, how can the settings change, without the consent of the root user. This is kinda wierd. This has happened over and over now, everytime making me install RH9. Im able to access GUI only for a few login sessions after which im greeted by the above msg. I tried every trick that i know ( including redhat-config-xfree86 command) but no luck yet.).The migration from RH7.3 to 9 wasn't at all pleasant for me.Im now considering to switch back to RH7.3 . I'd appreciate if anyone suggests a workaround for this issue. Should i give Fedora Core 1 a chance or would it do no good as it is cosmetically akin to RH9??
